"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV
God's people have always been characterized as a giving people, but the way they've given has changed over time. People no longer bring goats, sheep, calves and grain to God as they did in the Old Testament. We are called to be generous, but that doesn’t always mean in a financial way. We recognize every kind of generosity, because the church needs so many things including time, music, teaching, & money. Giving money is simpler, cleaner and theologically more sound since Jesus gave everything. As the way that money is exchanged changes, we at Country Chapel are extending to anyone that wishes to give, a new way to offer their financial gifts to God.
Anyone who would like to give to Country Chapel online is welcome to do so through the green "Give" button above. The system makes it easy to quickly transfer money from a bank account or debit card to the church safely and securely. One-time gifts and recurring withdrawals can both be set up, and gifts can be given to the church's general fund or even to a specific church project like the Kitchen Renovation or Playground Projects.
At Country Chapel, we'll continue to take an offering during the service for people who prefer to give by cash or check. For members who'd rather transfer money electronically, though, giving through the church website is now an option.
Living generously is an important aspect of the Christian life. After all, Luke records that Jesus himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). At Country Chapel, we want to encourage all members to pray about giving and give as God leads them. For those who prefer an online way to give, Tithely is available now. Feel free to set up an account and make an offering or contact the church for help with going through the sign-up process. Just click the green ‘Give’ button to get started. Blessings on you!
